It encourages victim blaming - since they have only them selves in charge for bringing their fates on on their own for an absence of positiver considering, and in the long run encourages the reader to blame by themselves given that when their needs are unsuccessful to be fishes there can only be a single rationale - the good imagining wasn't pretty
